This song conveys the exuberance of children riding on a train.

The original version of this song, “Soldier’s Train,” was written in 1937 to send off soldiers on their way to war.

After the war, some of the lyrics were changed, and the song was reworked as a song about a traveling child.

The lyricist, TOMINAGA Kaoru, was born in Gotemba City, Shizuoka Prefecture, at the foot of Mt. Fuji, and is said to have written the lyrics while teaching locally.
